In the monsoon month of Shravan, temples across Braj celebrate swings for Radha and Krishna. At Banke Bihari, the temple marks Hariyali Teej as its Jhoola festival.

The season of swings

Religious belief Devotional tradition remembers Radha and Krishna swinging together in the groves of Vrindavan during the monsoon. Across Braj, temples place their deities on decorated swings during Shravan, and devotees gently swing them to the accompaniment of seasonal songs.
