The story of the appearance
Temple tradition According to the temple's history, the Lord appeared in person with his divine consort at Nidhivan in answer to the devotion of Swami Haridas, and "turned itself into one single black charming idol". The deity was first installed in a temple close to the place of appearance. Source: Official temple history (opens in a new tab)
How it is celebrated
Secondary sources Secondary and devotional sources describe celebrations at Nidhivan and a procession from Nidhivan to the temple, with music and festive offerings. The temple's calendar does not describe the arrangements, and we have not observed them, so check local announcements for the route and timings.
